Vincent Bossy, Summer Kitchen in Tulum, Mexico

Originally from a traditional region of refractory products (Tain l’Hermitage, land of white earth bread ovens), I currently live in Coba, Quintana Roo in Mexico. Engineer in materials training (INSA sgm), I specialized in earth architecture in 2010 with CRATERRE at the National School of Architecture in Grenoble (ENSAG). Responsible for the production of fuel-efficient cookers in Senegal from 2006 to 2009 within the GIZ (Senegal-German cooperation), I have been making earthen coatings since 2009 and built stoves and stoves for heating and cooking since 2012. Trained by the company FEUDEBOIS and independent stve builder with CABESTAN in Grenoble from 2012 to 2016, I am currently working independently in Mexico:

  1. Firstly, in collaboration with Mr Edgar Tafoya with the aim of creating the company TECA “Tecnologias en Estufas y Combustibles Apropiados”. TECA’s mission is to provide a sustainable alternative to the inefficient technologies that are used in the solid biofuels sector in Mexico and the rest of Latin America to meet the growing demand for energy. TECA has already carried out several projects in Campeche, Jalisco, Estado de México and Sonora.
  2. On the other hand in collaboration with a group of Mayan masons in the realization of works in raw earth around Tulum. We have already carried out several coating, rammed earth and cob projects. Currently, we are concentrating on the construction of my white rammed earth house in Chemuyil.

Since September 2021, I have worked for a few months as an employee for the company manufacturing and installing Le Mélèze artisanal mass stoves, which I highly recommend buying! This company operates throughout France (The installation time for the stoves is 1 to 3 days) and offers domestic hot water. Mélèze values are the same as mine: Honesty and seriousness.
